Some backup power applications require run times of days instead of hours. Solutions like traditional battery-only or fuel cell systems using bottled hydrogen are only practical for a limited number of hours. For remote locations, such as telecommunications towers where frequent hydrogen delivery is not possible, the ElectraGen™ XTi integrated fuel cell solution or the ElectraGen™ Skid system is a perfect solution.
The ElectraGen™ Skid system integrates a fuel cell system and the IdaTech reformer mounted on a skid for easy installation. The IdaTech reformer is a liquid-fueled extended run module that can produce high purity hydrogen on demand for IdaTech's family of ElectraGen™ backup power fuel cell systems. IdaTech's fuel reformer converts HydroPlus, a fuel made of methanol and water, allows the reliable delivery of high-grade hydrogen to the ElectraGen™3 and ElectraGen™5 fuel cell systems, enabling days of operation from a very compact liquid fuel source. The IdaTech reformer also provides an economical solution to help avoid the traditional challenges associated with hydrogen delivery and storage by producing hydrogen on-site and as needed. It is perfect for remote locations such as telecommunications towers where frequent hydrogen delivery is not possible.
The IdaTech ElectraGen™ XTi fuel cell system eliminates the need for on-site hydrogen storage. Based on IdaTech's proven fuel reforming capabilities, the ElectraGen™ XTi system provides power for critical communications applications. Designed to provide clean, reliable extended run backup power for telecommunications, utilities and UPS applications, the ElectraGen™ XTi system integrations two of IdaTech's proven technologies into on compact solutions, to reduce footprint, as well as improve serviceability and produce seamless power with a straightforward design
